About Leto & Ariadne
Leto & Ariadne is the studio label of the handweaver Nick Ozanne, who works on traditional woodframed looms to create tactile, useable fabrics which feel beautiful against the skin. All work is done by hand, from the initial winding of the warp, the complete weaving process and the fine detail of the finishing, to create unisex collections of silk scarves that Selvedge magazine described as allowing the wearer to ‘reconnect with a lost sense of Englishness’. Scarves are supplied with striking giftboxes tied with satin ribbon and inside the boxes the silk lies encased in crisp white tissue. Nick strives to provide not only a long lasting product, but also a memorable and pleasurable experience of opening the box and unwrapping the scarf for the first time.
Originally training at the Winchester School of Art, Nick graduated in 1999 with a BA (Hons) degree in woven textiles. He founded Leto & Ariadne in 2009 and relocated to the Cotswolds the following year where he now weaves from a studio in a re-purposed mill complex. His work has won numerous awards and been featured in publications such as Selvedge, Craft & Design and Country Life. He is also a member of several professional craftsmen organisations.
